Final Thoughts
I have really enjoyed the past three days as I have learned about Web 2.0 and all the wonderful tools available to help make learning more engaging and interactive for students. I am excited to put many of these tools in place next year as I work with students. I know it will benefit my students greatly, and that, for me, is what education is all about!
Image Generators
I had the best time this morning with an Image Generator site! I made several different banners to use with my wiki. Here are a few examples:
Here is another great site where I created this:
These were a great way to personalize my wiki!

Flickr
I like the idea of Flickr. I usually save all my photos to an external hard drive, but I like that I can also save them on the Internet and then be able to share them with my family and friends.
It's amazing how connected we are to the world now!

RSS Feed
I am feeling a little more comfortable with using RSS feed. I can see the benefits it has for saving time by not searching ten different websites for new information. Instead, by having that informationg sent directly to the reader, there is only one site to search.
While I was searching for RSS feed, I was disappointed that one of my favorite web sites did not offer RSS. But as I snooped around the site, I found a new section on blogs that did off RSS feed. I learned from this not to give up too soon!

Delicious
I really enjoyed using delicious.com to set up bookmarks and tags. I was able to explore and found many different web sites and resources I can use in my classroom this coming year. Here is one resource I found which will be extremely helpful in teaching ELA. This wiki provides a list of many different books that I can use in read alouds or for teaching different reading skills.
First Post
I have just created my blog and am typing my first post. My goals for this Web 2.0 camp are to further my knowledge of blogs and wikis and learn ways that I can use these wonderful tools more effectively with my third graders to further their learning experience and engage them on a deeper level.
